PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
Information is one of the most valuable assets of modern life. Nowadays, both governmental institutions and private companies collect, store, process, and transfer significant amounts of data about individuals. However, technological advancements have made sharing information easier, leading to individuals potentially losing control over their data and it being subject to misuse.
The protection of personal data is a right individuals possess against unauthorized use of their information by individuals or organizations. In our country, a new era has been initiated with the adoption of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK). This law grants citizens certain rights against data controllers defined as natural and legal persons, while also imposing certain obligations on data controllers. Particularly relevant to the information technology and human resources departments of companies, these obligations constitute a significant part of the KVKK.
As Özen & Özen Law Office, some of the services we provide to assist our clients in complying with the KVKK, not limited to the following, include:
- Determining and analyzing the obligations to which clients are subject under the KVKK,
